Windows 7 Remote Desktop Solved Immediate Disconnect
System info:
Symptom: after successful login, remote desktop session was disconnected. This was the situation since the initial install, and in spite of many attempts to fix the problem.
This turned out to resolve the problem for me:
1. Upgrade to Pro
2. Rename c:\windows\system32\termsrv.dll to .off
3. Revert to termsrv.dll version 6.1.7601.18540 which on my system was dated 17-Jul-2014
4. Reboot.
After that, remote desktop sessions could connect.
- Windows 7 Home Premium -- upgraded to Windows 7 Pro
- 64-bit
